Bartender Please (OTG&B Version)

I’m going down to the Old Town Grill
& Bar tonight to drink my fill
my favorite joint it’s just outa sight
Travis & Bill & Justin & Brian
Shane Kristen & Chris
They’ll all be tryin’
to make sure everybody’s alright

In light of all that’s come to pass
I think I’ll have myself a glass
Bartender please mix me a Martini - 2x

I’m feeling just a bit put out
and facing just a little south
I’ve wiped the slate this time
right here is for drinkin’
The week I’ve had
hell the month’s been bad
I can’t tell if I am mad or sad
Right now I need a state of not thinkin'

In light of all that’s come to pass
I think I’ll have myself a glass
Bartender please mix me a Martini - 2x

I got my damned phone bill in the mail
it’s bigger than a mythic whale
I think that she’s been callin’ Miss Cleo
My car is back in the shop again
if I don’t soon get a chance to win
I’ll probably end up driving a Geo

In light of all that’s come to pass
I think I’ll have another glass
Bartender please mix me a Martini - 2x

My day job it sucks Monkey ass
they won’t even fire me baby I’ve asked
The lottery odds look bleaker and bleaker
The missus gets meaner by the day
any meaner she might turn me gay
at the very least she’s makin’ me weaker

In light of all that’s come to pass
I guess I’ll have another glass
Bartender please another Martooni, er
Bartender please another Martini

Two olives on a diamond pick
in lieu of lunch they’ll do the trick
My buddy he calls these drinks olive soup
I’ve got too much blood in my Alcohol stream
I’ll drink ’til I sleep and be
too drunk to dream and all before
my brain cells regroup

In light of all that’s come to pash
I gesh I’ll have another glash
Tarbender pleash another termini - 2x

Merchant St. Blues

Pulled into Indy with the sun in our eyes
Tail end of a really long day
Daydreamin’ ‘bout sleepin’ and thinking ‘bout dreamin’
Eleven hours been a really long way
Cuttin’ cards at the hotel and runnin’ through the show
Singin’ low so’s not disturb the guests
Time for a few drinks then hello mistress pillow
You know they’ve got more stars out midwest
You know they got more stars out midwest

O’dark-thirty in the morning we were finding the club
Just beneath the seventy ramp
We were drinking coffee when the ambient light
Took the baton from the weary street lamps
A new day’s glosses told us to cut our losses
Odds were that we were already dead
So tumble dice into the gas tank and switch the
Chips for petrol it’s back to Virginia we’d head
Back to Virginia we’d head

We saw the sun set and then rise again in Indy
We were tired but the show’s gotta go
Last minute changes and venue rearranges
About which we didn’t all know
We saw the sun set and then rise again in Indy
We were tired but the show’s gotta go
‘Bout twelve hundred miles give or take by
the time we were back and you know we weren’t slow
You best believe that we weren’t slow

We saw the sun set and then rise again in Indy
And you know that we returned renewed
The first time the Monkey departed the state
Well heeled and well wheeled and well stewed
We saw the sun set and then rise again in Indy
And we left a bit longer in tooth
Because there’s nothing like the first swig from a new bottle
it’s a bit rough but it soon gets smooth
Because there’s nothing like the first swig from a brand
New bottle it’s a bit rough but it soon gets smooth.
A bit rough but it soon gets smooth.

My Drinkin’ (has saved your life)

I’d have taken you out by now
you uber stupid sow
You oughta know that you sicken me
You owe your life to Hennesy

I’ve always been a happy drunk
I smile when my thoughts have sunk
Congeniality in the glass
the bottle gnomes have saved your ass

My drinkin’ has saved your life

Johnny Walker went to bat for you
Jim Beam and Dewars too
They fought a battle that you can’t fight
They’ll do it all again tonight

My drinkin’ has saved your life

Your one in many that owes your thanks
to the spirits in the bottle banks
the kickin’ chicken and the Saphire too
and Crown reserve has done a lot for you

My drinkin’ has saved your life

Heartbreak Hotel

“Heartbreak Hotel”
written by Axton, Presley & Durden

Raincoat

Chorus:
It’s rainin’ & I’ve got me a raincoat
It’s rainin’ & I’ve got me a raincoat
That’s the happy fact that I’m clingin’ to today.

Cuz everybody needs to know it’s the little things
that make us smile and help us to get by
the little gems and grins and things
that insert the sparkle into our eyes

Chorus

Fingers slip through the fog upon the window
the background hums of drizzle on the roof
a soggy May, the flowers are late
I’m fighting off the Monday morning blues

The coffee’s hot & the weather show says
to expect rain all throughout the day
I take a sip & burn my lip &
count to ten to keep my temper at bay

Chorus

Cuz everybody needs to know it’s the little things
that make us smile and help us to get by
the little gems and grins and things
that insert the sparkle into our eyes

Chorus

Old Soul

I’m an old soul baby, I have been since day one
I’m an old soul baby, I have been since day one
I seem to age in dog years, My day starts with a setting sun

I’m an old soul baby, I been old since I was young
I’m an old soul baby, I been old since I was young
Been tired since I woke up, my song’s already been sung

I’m an old soul baby with truth behind the eyes
I’m an old soul baby, there’s truth behind these eyes
Experience and wisdom, they mile-mark these cries

solo

I’m an old soul baby with a fresh new set of toys
I’m an old soul baby with a fresh new set of toys
The questions are familiar, the answer’s in the noise.

I’m an old soul baby, I have been since day one
I’m an old soul baby, I’ve been old since I was young
I seem to age in dog years, my song’s already been sung

Dick Frankenstein’s Night Out

This song was written about Monty Haymes’ bachelor party. Preceding his marriage to the lovely Kerie Haymes. Every word in this song is true.

She said her name was Kevin and she
she stripped for Monty
Floyd spent an hour in the VIP Lounge
Seven hundred dollars
She took my Crown and clicked her tongue
you shoulda seen her jaw drop
when I took it back and did the same
I’m such a trollop

Handy Andy hit a train’track
a dozen bladders ‘bout burst
Sixteen men were in agreement
Greedo never shot first
In a twist around the waitress
found she’d got digits from Hobart
The earlobe bit, name-tags on tit
classic state of the art

In case you find you’re looking for
a moral to this story
It’s just a tale of scant-missed jail
one needn’t worry
The night of Big Dick Frankenstein
and his merry band of bandits
Spreading wealth about three months saved
‘cause a wedding gave ’em chance

Interact and questions asked
happy to oblige
Beneath the rain Izzy abstained
but the others they went inside
Not a word by Sunday heard about
Peter’s paramedics
By then the evening’s bail-bond cash
had long since switched to credit

Turgenson he showed the Artist
a trick for tippin’ up top
Peter asked for an anal insertion
from a Prince William County Cop
Everyone thought Fistibuns
was surely going to upchuck
But he held back so Frankenstein
owes Nipple a sawbuck

In case you find you’re looking for
a moral to this story
It’s just a tale of scant-missed jail
one needn’t worry
The night of Big Dick Frankenstein
and his merry band of bandits
Spreading wealth about three months saved
‘cause a wedding gave ’em chance

Monty got a hottie and his friends
they did benefit
Kerie honey we all love you
and don’t you forget it
To all of those that stayed behind
so the pets and kids were fed
the biggest smile was getting home
and curling into bed

The Ballad of Boozey the Monkey

I was working my way through the bar
Climbing right up the shelf
I’d drank just about every kinda drink
I was looking for something else
So I took myself on safari
Looking for a brand new booze
I took along a flask and some munchies and
My guitar so I could play me some blues

I was dancing down a path in the jungle
Whistling some Albert King
When up in the trees there was
a terrible commotion
& I saw myself the darnedest thing
a monkey with a shaker & some glassware
Swung down to me on a vine
He stirred some martinis
with two olives each
And hit me with the coolest line

Chorus:
He said I’m Boozey the monkey
Often drunk and always funky
You can call me Boozey for short
He handed me a cocktail glass with a grin
And said Buddy lets hold us a court

Well now the first thing that
I’ve got to tell you
Is that monkey mixed a damn fine drink
I said Boozey little buddy
we are certainly soul mates
Well at least you know
that’s what I think
He readily concurred and
then did something absurd
you know He wasn’t
overflowing with couth
He pointed to my guitar case
there beside me and
insisted that I play some tunes

So I whipped out a little bit of
Howlin’ Wolf and then
I played him one of mine
He mixed us both another soup & salad
And hit me with the coolest line

CHORUS

So here we are singing his gospel &
Believe me this ain’t no myth
The jungle is home to a Dean Martin monkey
That swings around saying this:

CHORUS
